Speaking Schedule:

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: "Making Sense at Home" -- Doug & Patsy Arnold, Texas Special Kids
Movers, shakers, and wigglers have sensory needs that sometimes interfere with learning. This hands-on workshop experience includes ideas and activities for kids who need to move as they learn.

Doug and Patsy Arnold will be available throughout the afternoon for consultations with families. Please schedule an appointment in advance by sending an email to txspecialkids@gmail.com. (Please use this address only for scheduling appointments.) Someone will reply to you with a time slot when the Arnolds are available.

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: "Running the Race Set Before You" -- Rosie Watson
Balancing the role of teacher, Mom, and wife can become one of the homeschool mom's greatest challenges. Rosie Watson, home school mom of over 20 years, brings encouragement, vision and practical advice to help you run your race. This inspiring workshop will help to bring focus and passion to your homeschool journey.

1 p.m - 2 p.m.: "Any Child Can Write" -- Rosie Watson
This workshop will equip you with practical strategies to inspire and develop the writer in your child. Rosie will explore answers to the questions: How do children learn to write? And more importantly, how do children learn to love to write? Additional topics will include: How to separate the mechanics of writing from the soul, how to motivate the reluctant writer, how to take the stress out of writing and make it fun.

1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.: "Accelerated Learning" -- Dr. Miles Jones
It seems that half the educational products on the shelf claim to be accelerated. Are these myriad claims truth or false and how would one know and does it really matter? Accelerated learning is a scientific reality based on a profound knowledge of the way the brain works and how to facilitate enhanced learning, memory, and performance in a curriculum. By definition, it requires performance at a significantly higher level to be considered accelerated. During this presentation, Dr. Jones will inform you on the benefits of accelerated learning, how the theory and practice of accelerated learning works and how you can begin to utilize it right away. You will witness a live demonstration of Dr. Jones' homeschool students who will do advanced math calculations mentally faster than an electronic calculator. It is a presentation not to be missed.

2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: "Ignite the Fire" -- Terri Camp
Give your children something powerful – Give them a love for learning!
In this fun, yet inspiring workshop, Terri will light a fire in you to pass on to your children the gift of wanting to learn. She will show you how you can take a child who balks at “doing school” to a child who becomes passionate about learning. Terri will encourage you as she helps you bring out that natural creativity in your child. Be prepared to laugh and learn as Terri takes you on a journey full of adventure and excitement – the journey – of a home school mom, with kids who are fascinated about the world around them.

2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: "New to Homeschooling" -- Rosie Watson
If you are new to homeschooling and not sure where to begin or worried about whether you can homeschool your child successfully, this workshop is for you. Featured convention speaker Rosie Watson, 21 year veteran, who has homeschooled her 3 children into college will be giving practical help to demystify homeschooling. Topics will include: Am I the best person to teach my own child; the various approaches to homeschooling; learning styles; time constraints and scheduling; getting connected & socialization; eliminating the myth of the perfect curriculum; the law in Texas.

3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: "Inner Beauty" -- Hannah Farver
Proverbs 31 tells us that beauty is vain, but the woman who fears the Lord is worthy of praise. Although our culture devotes ample attention to physical appearances, have we neglected the cultivation of the kind of beauty that really matters? What does it look like to cultivate inner beauty, and why does it matter, anyway?

Eighteen-year-old Hannah Farver is homeschool graduate, as well as an accomplished communicator, writer, and nationally ranked public speaker. During this special session for teenage girls, Hannah will offer encouragement and inspiration as she challenges them to nurture their growing beauty, and to counter the culture's "ideal" for womanhood with God's breathtaking vision.

4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.:
Team Family: Professor Brainius
All children must be attended by their parent or guardian.
