11:00 a.m. - "Jessica's Gems: Teaching Tips for Beginners" -- Jessica Hulcy

Come hear Jessica Hulcy, co-author of KONOS Character Curriculum, share her wealth of practical advice and information in her hilarious Jessica-style on what she personally recommends young moms do and not do when they begin homeschooling. Be enlightened and encouraged and entertained . . . all at the same time!
1:00 p.m. - "Teaching Everyone Together to Build Family and Stay Sane!!! " -- Jessica Hulcy
Jessica Hulcy, co-author of KONOS Curriculum, has been teaching home school for 24 years and still claims to be sane! She credits multi-level teaching with allowing her to teach as much as possible to all her children at one time thereby keeping her sanity while also building family togetherness. Jessica will show actual video footage of her teaching her boys using the unit method to effectively impart knowledge to children of varying ages at the same time . . . challenging the oldest yet not frustrating the youngest.
2:00 p.m. - "Investigating How We Learn " -- Kim Moody
Kim will share information on different learning styles and how to adapt your teaching to maximize your child's learning potential.
3:00 p.m. - "High School: Teaching the Head and the Heart" --
Jessica Hulcy
As young children approach their high school year, parents realize how much they want their young adults to know before they leave home. Character and convictions are as important as credits and CLEP tests. Love of learning is as important as passing the test. How can all this be passed on to high schoolers? Using her KONOS History of the World as a template, Jessica Hulcy, co-author of KONOS Curriculum and homeschool mom for 24 years, shares not only what she believes constitutes a classical education for high schoolers and/or living the rest of their lives, but a method for creating independent learnings who take charge of their own learning.
4:00 p.m. - "Homeschooling Through Tough Times" --
Becca Beard
Becca will share her practical advice for how to homeschool during difficult times - with the kids, extended family, tragic circumstances, burnout and loss of vision.
